Shopping is a {bad} habit

I recently went on my “shopping spree” (online) and I try not to go too crazy. Of course I mostly shopped at my favorite store… Jcrew. There are so many things I wanted to buy but I didn’t want to overspend.

Here is a list of my recently purchased items:

Skinny fleece pant: On sale $58.00

For those lazy days.

Skinny Utility Chino: $89.50

I couldn’t pass these up! I was sort of looking for a military pant for a while that wasn’t camo print. Although they cost more then I like, I had to purchase them now since my size runs out very fast!

Swoop Top: On sale $79.99

I really like the cobolt blue color & the cutaway back.

Short Sleeve Boyfriend Sweatshirt: On sale $44.99

Also, for those lazy days. A great alternative to a tee shirt and a regular sweat shirt.

I also went shopping on Jcrew Factory, they are having an awesome 50% off the entire site.

Chino Shorts: On sale $19.50 (blue is 4″ & khaki is 5″)

I don’t own many shorts, so I was persuaded to add these to my wardrobe.

JC Factory Denim: On sale 39.50

I cannot commit to the prices on regular Jcrew for denim and even JC factory regular price (79.50) seemed like a lot for just denim.

Factory Teagan Ruffle Popover: On sale $32.00

I really love the herringbone pattern and the other reminds me of watercolor floral paintings. I can see them being played up in the cooler weather with a blazer or cardigan.

JC Factory Lipstick Tee: $16.00

I love this graphic tee (I usually am not a big fan) but this is girly while also being cozy.

Nine West Panto Loafer (pink): $29.99

Last year I purchased these in black but my dog chewed the embellishment off 😦 I tried to get them again in black but they were sold out… which is why I got the pink instead.

Nine west Lavalu: $79.00

Because my black pantos weren’t available is why I got these instead.

Golden Summer Hair

I haven’t dyed my hair in over 2 years, I just felt like I always thought the natural hair your born with is the best that suits you. I always dyed it and then quickly reverted back to my dark hair color. I figured since I am trying to grow my hair out [into an asymmetrical bob] that I would do something different to keep me from going crazy while in the midst of growing.

Being the first day of summer, I decided to go to a golden brown/bronze color. Isn’t that what your supposed to do? Light in summer & dark in winter? Any who… I really like it so far. What do you think?

Now if only I knew what to do with my DARK eyebrows. I’m too scared to bleach them… but thats a whole other post.

Summer Night

I have been searching for an outfit for my good friend’s wedding in August. This is an inspiration for a date night and also the wedding! I love it. All the items are not TOO expensive and can easily be worn as separates. I also am in love with coral colors lately. I just would hate to buy a dress that I wouldn’t wear on a regular basis. (Note: I am not a dress type of girl) The last dress I bought was for $25.00 at sears and was very cute… but it was only worn once.
What do you think? Is it wedding appropriate?
Summer Night

Are sparkles just for the night life?

Recently, I purchased the cluster sequin tee from Jcrew. I have been wanting it for awhile and it finally went on Sale !!(It’s available currently for $69.99 from $98.00)

Image

I think it’s adorable and could possible be worn in the day hours, however I have a few girlfriends who think that sequins/sparkles/glitter should only be worn for a night on the town. If you have worn sparkles during day hours how have you “toned it down” or how did you wear it? Do you agree that sparkles are for night time only? Who says you can’t shine in the day time?

I think the model for the tee looks like it could be a day outfit.

Lets see how I manage to mix it up when it arrives.

Kitchen Inspiration: The Cracked Kitchen

We decided to stay in our love/hate house. There are many great things about our house that we haven’t found while looking around for a new house and I think after being here 2 years we have an emotional attachment to it as well.

Starting with the Kitchen, it is the place I spend most of my time. Right now I think the layout is not functional, the appliances stink and the walls/ceiling have this faux texture look to it that I can’t stand!

Within the next year or two I would like to get things moving on making it ours.

I really like something with these colors for a counter top. It is quartz, I am not big on granite just because I know it has to be sealed and I want low maintenance but not yucky looking laminate.

Image

I would love this faucet. It looks rustic/country and I love the knobs. I would prefer it with less of the patina look but regardless I love it.

I always LOVED farmhouse sinks. Right now I have a terrible double sink that stinks! I want a big deep sink! I also prefer a ceramic sink to stainless steel.

Wood tile! Need I say more??

As far as cabinets go, I have a vision in my head of what I want but have yet to see it online. I also picture our new kitchen with an island and an L shape. Right now it’s a gallery shaped U.
